Progress Beyond the Scale.

It is Powerful. Don’t get me wrong, knowing how much you weigh is important but don’t let that be the ONLY factor that you look at to see your progress. I use to be obsessed with how much I weighed until talking to my doctor. I didn’t realize that I had major problems with my thyroid and adrenal glands, more on that later.

Here are the 3 non-scale victories that have helped:

  1. Your mobility and range of motion has improved- this tends to be the most underutilized in workouts. You can strengthen and lengthen muscles at the same time.

  1. You can jump higher - I jumped a lot as a kid but as I got older, I realized how important it is to strengthen my pelvic floor.  Don’t forget to bring some fun into your workouts and jumping can do just that. For those of you with a weak pelvic floor and it is challenging to jump, stay tuned.

  1. You choose a fibrous and/or protein-enriched food over a sugary food- Decisions. Decisions. This, in turn, will affect the scale overtime. The nutrition can be the most challenging part so find a program that implements a lifestyle change. I have one that works if you need one.

In the end, I am grateful.
