My Journey to 40!

Wow.

I woke up January 1st, 2023, with a simultaneous feeling of being ecstatic and terrified. Ecstatic because I have heard the older you get, the less you care of what people think of you and terrified because, the reality of gray hair is already peaking through. Why do these thoughts occur?

A few reasons here, according to me. The aging process for women is seen differently as compared to men. I can speak for myself that I put too much stress on myself in regards to that. I feel as though my body changes every decade, even though I have only experienced 4 different decades; the thinning of my thick hair, the crazy hormone changes, a harder time losing belly fat (yes, even as a certified personal trainer), and more.

One of the good parts about turning 40 has been the full life I have lived so far. Marrying a wonderful man, traveling, finishing college, studying abroad, having sincere friendships, a loving family and more. The good absolutely outweighs the bad.

And yes, I’m beyond grateful for the compliments of saying I look young. I take it all in; however, my back reminds me of my age….so yeah… :)

This blog space is here to share all things 40 and beyond along with my years of fitness experience, funny stories, inspiration, health tips, my research, and encouragement.

Thank you for reading my raw and real feelings. In the end, I am grateful.
