Grocery Store Hacks

My #1 hack is: Do NOT go to the store or order your grocery list online when you are hungry! Ok, now that is out of the way, here are three grocery store hacks that can help you save money, time, and make your shopping experience more efficient:

  1. Shop the Perimeter: The outer aisles of the store usually contain fresh produce, dairy, meats, and other essential items, while the inner aisles often contain processed and packaged foods. By sticking mostly to the perimeter, you're more likely to buy healthier and fresher ingredients. You’ll also avoid impulse buys from the middle aisles.

  2. Use a List and Stick to It: Plan your meals for the week and make a grocery list based on that plan. This helps you avoid buying unnecessary items and prevents you from wandering around the store, where you're more likely to make impulse purchases. A well-thought-out list can also save you time and money.

  3. Look for Sales and Discounts, Especially on Bulk Items: Many grocery stores offer discounts on products when you buy in bulk, or they may have special promotions on items you frequently use. Keep an eye out for these deals, and consider buying non-perishable or freezable items in larger quantities. Always check unit prices (price per ounce, pound, etc.) to make sure you’re getting the best deal.

These simple hacks can streamline your grocery shopping and help you save money in the long run.
